Sequences

  • A sequence is an infinite string of numbers
    • Denoted as (an​) or (an​)n=1∞​
    • Sequences can be added together or multiplied by a scalar
  • We say that (an​) is convergent and n→∞lim​an​=L if “the sequence gets really close to L when n gets really big”
    • L is the limit of the sequence
    • Otherwise, the sequence is divergent
