A system of particles is a collection of particles whose combined motion is described by the motion of its centre of mass plus motion relative to it.

System Mass and Mass Centre

The total mass for a system of particles is given by the sum of each particle:
$m=\sum m_i$

The centre of mass vector ($\bar{\mathbf{r}}$) can be found using the following equation:
$\bar{\mathbf{r}}=\frac{\sum m_i{\mathbf{r}}_i}{m}$
